Emergency Pedestrian Access - Footbridge

A crudely built footbridge was erected in the mid ‘70s by property owners Couldron and Reay.  The bridge served as the only emergency access crossing near the confluence of Dry and Wet Beaver Creek.  For many years it was the lifeline for those living below the confluence until March 2009 when new property owners at the Reay Crossing parcel decided to remove the bridge siting liability issues.  This action served to further divide the residents living south of the confluence (which the footbridge had served) and those living north of the Reay Road Crossing.

Hearing the problems of Lower McGuireville, Oak Creek Canyon Forest House owners shared their drawings, plans and contacts for a ADA compliant footbridge built in their area.  Their offers to help design and construct a similar footbridge in the Beaver Creek Village area where put on hold until a comprehensive access plan could be developed.
